Saurabh Amin was born in Anand, Gujarat, India in 1980. He received the B.Tech. (2002) in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology at Roorkee, M.S. (2004) in Transportation Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and Ph.D. (2011) in Systems Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
Since 2012, he has been with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where is currently a Robert N. Noyce Associate Professor. He is an affiliated member of the Laboratory of Information and Decision Systems (LIDS) and the Institute of Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS). He also a member of the Operations Research Center (ORC) and the Center for Computational Engineering (CCE). From 2013-2018, he was the Chief Scientist of NSF CPS Frontiers Project: Foundations of Resilient CybEr-Physical Systems (FORCES).
His research interests are in control of infrastructure networks, cyber-physical systems security, applied game theory and information economics, and optimization in networks.
He has been a recipient of Solomon Buchsbaum AT&T Research Award (2012), NSF CAREER Award (2015), Google Faculty Research Award (2015), Siebel Energy Institute Award (2015), and Seed Fund Grants from MIT CEE (2014) and IDSS (2018).
